I know if my system was taken away and heavily analysed everything could be cracked but for browsing and storing pics I do the following.
use anonymiser to hide IP address.
store any pictures in a file using Truecrpyt.
use privacy eraser pro to delete anything, shredding the files, websites visited etc using 35 "wipe out" passes.
never ever use my credit card
use a nym for any email addresses required.
Anything else I should be doing to take reasonable precautions. I know melting the PC would be safest but....
And secondly..... if I decide to sell my PC, how do you completely wipe it but still leave it usable afterwards?
thanks

The biggest worry is ISP logs - bugger all you can do about that :\
If you're selling your PC I'd take out the drive and put in a new one - peace of mind and a good selling point!

35 wipes is not needed any more 3 passes will do unless the hard drive is 10+ years old
only the DoD wants 37 passes - the standard was set years ago on lo-density drives
for " killing " the disk use " Darik's Boot and Nuke " ( DBaN ) burn the disk then reboot with it in the disk drive an by-by info ,everything.
and KEEP the Truecrpyt KEY OFF of the system put it on a 3.5 floppy
i use pgp so i keep the public half of the key pair , off the system
