emule links are just file links, 1 file usually 1 set 300~500 pics in zip/rar archive , or soemtimes its an whole issue or could be a whole site in 1 file

you need to have DSL/cable.... no point if u have a slow connection
emule is a little slower than kazaa, but reliable. usually unless u are luky u need 24/7 connection on emule. If you are behind firewall/router AND i are not able to get HIGH ID when u connect to emule servers u will probably need to forward port 4662 (default emule port)

1. install emule Duh ! then connect to a server (press connect)
usage of links: copy the link [one at a time or whole bunch dont matter)
paste them into Downloads area window under Transfers button of the Emule http://www.emule-project.net

just double click the file after its finished downloading (all green) and it should open, they go yo program files>e mule>incoming i only can play mpg vids from there so in search type mpg after the subject for better results, i already got like 50 good full length vids from there and some good full albums 2

i need a little advice,i had to re-download e-mule..long story,anyhow it downloads fine but i can't get it to open up to configure settings and get up and running,i got all the windows for running the files through the process,i don't know what i'm doing wrong,last time i walked right through it,any ideas?

that will make sure your ports have been set up right also people that are using routers remember you need to set it up so you are diverting the traffic to you pc which involves setting up ports on the router and dont set your max source/files to high or your router will keep crashing.

This is kinda like pullin teeth. Emule is like kaaza or soulseek -but it takes a lot longer and is a lot more complicated right? I mean, its all good the way you guys got your own little system so the "thought police" can't destroy all this (and it is f*cking cool by the way)... It just ought to be easier for a person who isn't a computer programmer to operate. I've got a Master's degree and this confuses the hell out of me. (iknow, should've saved my $$$ and become a stripper... thats what I keep hearing)

The thing about emule or edonkey is that it is all about sharing,, not leeching.
the more you share, the quicker you download.
There are sharing ratio's and queue's. when emule asks for a file from a source, you get put in the queue. and are put in line,, the more you are sharing, the more you can be rewarded with a higher place in the queue... some files are "incomplete" and you will wait months for them to download, because of user feedback and user ratings and verified links you can almost completely do away with downloading fakes and virused files. and get what you really want..
emule isn't meant to download single songs or pictures though this can be done..

emule is meant for downloading photo archives,, complete sets..
full albums,,
full movies etc.....
queues, ratings, file hashes etc.. can all be confusing at first...
but the basic can be learnt fairly quickly,, you will have to do some reading of a tutorial or two...
download and install the official emule from http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/general.cgi?l=1
use a firewall (as with all computing) and allow emule access to the ports (as described in tutorials)
use peerguardian or protowall ( packet filtering to block the so called "good guys" RIAA etc... )
connect and make sure you have a high id ( as per tutorials)
and STAY CONNECTED,, the longer emule runs the faster your downloads.
remember the queue,, you have to be patient while waiting in line,, in order to move up in queue...

i cant connect. i keep trying but it keeps saying Disconnected and it automatically tries again for me but it keeps saying Disconnected.

THEHOBBIT you need to open up ports in the firewall.Depending on what client it could be 2 or 3 or 4 ports .
min 1( tcp )and 1 (udp) port and a third port ( udp) for kad
some isp's block or slow down the default ports so use something in the way of 50000 to 70000
ex:
tcp 61111
tcp 61112 ( optional)
udp 61111
udp 61114 ( kad)

I have a quick question about Emule, I have an older version (from 2 years ago) backed up on a dvd. Are the newer versions safe? Usually p2p programs get corrupt over time and I dont want the hassle it takes to remove ad-ware. I would prefer to use the old version if it still compatible, however if someone could vouch that the newer stable versions are STD free if you get my drift. Thanks!
